About Us

I am a small hobby breeder located in the greater Austin area. I acquired my first Doberman and got involved with the breed in 2015.

As a child, I fell in love with the Doberman’s intense expression and sleek, powerful look the moment I saw them in Resident Evil. I knew Dobermans were the breed for me.

When the time came to begin my search for a puppy I had no idea where to look. Luckily, a discussion on an online forum prompted me to research reputable breeders. My search led me to Eve and Irongate Dobermans. I submitted an application, we chatted back and forth for a bit, and I was put on her waitlist. After about a year, Eve had a litter and notified me there was a potentially a puppy for our family. Once temperament testing was done, Eve determined there were two black males that would make a good fit for our family. We came home with Riddick, Irongate's Beer For My Horses; who became the inspiration for Fantasy Dobermans. A few years later came River, Irongate's Ribbon of Darkness; the foundation of our breeding program.

First and foremost, our dogs are our family. They live in our home, sleep in our beds, and cuddle up with us on the couch. We are not a kennel or a puppy mill. We do not keep many dogs in our home, and each litter is meticulously planned. As such, we do not have litters often.

Our goal at Fantasy Dobermans is to produce dogs that are loving family members. Alongside that goal, we strive to breed Dobermans of correct breed type and conformation with health and longevity in mind. We are active in many different venues such as conformation, obedience, dock diving, barn hunt, rally, lure coursing and more. Dobermans are extremely versatile and their ability to do-it-all is one of the things we love about them! In addition to titling our dogs in conformation and performance events, our dogs are health tested annually.

As a breeder, we strive to raise healthy, well-adjusted puppies that are socialized from the moment their lives start to ensure that they will be a wonderful addition to your family.

We are members in good standing of the DPCA and adhere to their code of ethics and breed standard. We do not condone or support the breeding of albino/”white” (z factored) Dobermans.
